Thank you, hard to imagine that what’s being unveiled or revealed- it IS a horror movie, of its worst kind -yet we all know, almost since the first day of creation, how people in power were murderous in one way or another - no moral compass, no accountability no conscience -absolutely sickening.
In the US women were not allowed to own their own business officially until the Women in Business act in 1988 -
My grandmother raised me and when her husband suddenly died at 54, she was 49 and suddenly left to run her husband’s business - that was in the 70s - and because she won the respect of her community, she was less
marginalized as a business owner.
I’ve owned my own business since I was 18, and it has been riddled with all kinds of opportunities and obstacles.
Independent success can make you a target. A strong mind and an opinion or fresh perspective can intimidate. And the words of my grandmother, we’ve got work to do, put your big girl boots on and let’s keep walking. Role modeling the behavior we seek-
We will continue to use our vote, and our cash, to those we believe will actually do a good job, and the work of good people will not be forgotten. We will continue to tell their stories.
Was it ever thus. Thank you for articulating what we’re all experiencing. It’s endemic and baked into the very systems that make up ‘society’. Given how uncivilised Western society is that’s a pretty good reason to examine how to rebuild these pillars that constitute a moral society
It’s all sickening and there must be men all over the world waiting for the knock. My pal is a big name in the therapy/wellness industry and is working on an expose of the toxic men in that space. Sexual predators and money drunk gurus. How’s this “my ideal customer is a middle-aged cardigan wearing woman with a credit card and a pulse”

And remember that most people are good. They really are.

I had always hoped that by the time my daughter went out into the world all this would so different. It’s so depressing that it’s not.
Please keep going - if we mid life women shout out enough, maybe we can really change things for our grand daughters.
