There has been so much written about the demise of her charity which is so wrong and unfair - she was acquitted by the High Court of all the allegations against her
In the mid 2000s I heard her on the radio one day and thought I would love to work with her. I emailed her the next day & she invited me in that week to tell her more. Needless to say I loved her immediately & ran a small project with a group of girls about the power of telling a story - enabling them to talk about stuff stressing them. It was one of the best experiences of my career to date & I am so delighted that finally people are being positive about her & Kids'Company. Thank you!
Neurodiverse she may have been but her perception of how much trauma those children had endured was accurate. I admired her work with them and I expect the results are far reaching.
I attended a fund raising lunch many years ago when she told the story of how the traumatized brains of young children set the pattern for a difficult life , that they had never experienced love or care and had literally been treated like animals meant their brains were differently wired It was pioneering research and completely changed and informed my view of youth delinquency ... a wonderful woman who was a change maker and made a real difference to many lives and outcomes
I worked with her briefly many years ago and never forgot her. She was incredible in every way. And she saved so many lives through her tireless work... RIP

What a beautifully honest piece. Captivating reading.
